Frequently Asked Questions for Teachers
What happens once I register?
Once you register your needs, I Love Schools, Inc. is notified when a donation
is offered. We'll make the match and help you get in touch with the donor,
then let you make the arrangements for pick-up/delivery of the gift.
How does the Teacher
Locator work?
We assign a unique seven digit number to every teacher. This number can
be used by the teacher to invite potential contributors directly to a teachers
iLoveSchools.com page.
How do you verify that a school
exists?
Currently we have 95,000 U.S. Public Schools in our database. When a teacher
from any one of these schools registers, his or her address is verified
as an authentic school and is assigned a gold star

.
When a school who is not yet in our database registers, they are given an
opportunity to receive the gold star authentication. The teacher is asked
to print the registration completion page and submit this along with their
school letterhead. The school is then verified by our staff and given the
gold star designation.
Do I just sit back and wait or
can I do anything to help my school get donations?

to you to help you promote iLoveSchools.com to potential donors. Check back

Should I request donations from
I Love Schools, Inc.?
We encourage you to post all of your needs on our website, however at this
time we are unable to make direct contributions to individual schools. All
of our donations come from individual donors who are searching on our site
for teachers to help.
When registering my school, why
do I have to describe our school's political or religious affiliation?
I Love Schools, Inc. does not discriminate against any school however, many
people choose to help schools that reflect their own beliefs. Our supporters
may have to comply with company, state or federal giving guidelines that
specify or exclude certain affiliations. We simply ask that you disclose
your school's affiliation to help donors understand their intended recipient.
How are deductions claimed through
the IRS for charitable contributions?
The IRS has issued Publication 526 of December 2003 which explains how deductions
are claimed. Please
click
here for the complete document.
What precautions should I take
when meeting a donor to receive a donation?
All delivery details are for the teacher and donor to decide. We encourage
for any delivered donations to be accepted at your school. If you choose
to meet outside of a school to accept a donation, please remember to use
the same caution you always would when meeting someone for the first time.
Other suggestions include:
- Pick a public spot and time to meet where there will be many people
around.
- If you meet outside of school, tell someone else where you are going.
- Don't invite a teacher or donor to your home.
- Don't follow someone to pick up donations, especially if he or she
was supposed to bring them to your meeting place.
- If you feel you are in danger, call the police; it's always better
to be safe than sorry.
- Never worry or feel embarrassed about your behavior; your safety is
much more important than one person's opinion of you.
Please understand, I Love Schools, Inc. accepts no responsibility or liability
for it's services nor, any results from the use of this website.
Is my home school, daycare or other
educational facility eligible to receive donations?

daycare centers, Head Start and after-school programs as well as adult education
centers. Our primary focus is in helping teachers of pre-K/12 grade ranges
but, any educator is welcome to ask for what they need.

donation?
I Love Schools, Inc. relies on outside donors to make donation offers through
our website. We cannot guarantee that every donation request will be matched
with a donor and are unable to predict how long it will take to find the
right donor for your school. We do ask for your help in promoting our site.
