Frequently Asked Questions for Donors
How do I find a school that I can support?
Visit our
search page, to search by any or all of our search criteria. You can donate something you already own and want to put to another use or you can find out what a school needs and offer to buy and ship it. Either way you are offering a tremendous resource to the school and the students.
What will you do with my eMail address when I subscribe to the newsletter?
We will send you periodic newsletters to let you know how things are growing! We will never distribute your email or contact information to any third party. Ever.
Who's paying for this website and who's making the money?
I Love Schools, Inc. is a non-profit organization. This website was developed entirely by eWebLab, a web design firm in San Diego, California. Our objective is to build this site to promote our abilities while helping to meet the growing needs of our communities. We believe this effort can be funded by profits from our primary business as well as contributions from supporters.
Sure, we would always like more business but, our primary goal in this effort is to answer a life-long desire to help change the educational experience of kids as well as give back to the many teachers who share so much!
What if the school that I want to donate to does not have a gold star?
Our verification process deals with two types of schools - this includes 95,000 public schools that were verified through a national database when the web site was launched and given a gold star. The other schools that do not already have a star are asked to send us a copy of their letterhead as well as a copy of the registration page, printed from their computer when they register. Once received, we check to make sure that the school does exist before giving it a star. If a school is real and registered, but we have not received letterhead from the teacher, it won't have a star on our site.
You are more than welcome to donate to any school on our site, but please check to make sure the school exists if you have questions and don't see a star. If you see a school with no star that you know should be a verified school, please tell the school to get in touch with us to complete the verification process.
